SETTING BOUNDARIES..

This seems to be a lesson that visits me… over.. and over.. and over again

Perhaps this is one of my Big Life Lessons.

And, as usual I hadn’t realised I had let my boundaries lapse.. again

But, what crystallised for me this time was -

If I am not clear with people and draw lines in the sand.. they will wander all over the place ignoring what I hope they will see as the edge of my space..

I am specifically referring to Work at the moment.

But, the same rules apply to personal + family relationships too.

I also discovered, that if I am clear with the perimeters then everyone respects this and acts accordingly.

And, if they don’t - well, then they really aren’t my peeps

What flaws me every time is how simple this stuff is!

And, yet…..

Still I attempt to accommodate.. wherever I can.

And, still I apologise for the need to.. say… actually charge money for my time.

You get me?

I know anyone out there who’s also self-employed (and specifically within the healing + creative professions.. ) will be nodding sagely at this point.

Who would attempt to negotiate with their Dentist over the price of the work they are doing?

Or, even ask if they actually have to pay for the service..

(Yes - this was a real comment on an Event I shared recently!! )

So.. to anyone out there who doesn’t value the services of me or, others like me..

Please don’t darken my (online or, in person) doors.

You are wasting both of our times.

But, to those who appreciate, enjoy and are thriving because of what I and others like me do.

You kids are welcome anytime
